January New Year new start
Pictures from my post - January New Year new start

Ah, January has arrived and it's like a fresh new slate, brimming with possibilities and excitement!  But sadly, as is the case every year, it's time to bid farewell to the festive cheer and pack away the Christmas decorations.  Shown here are some of my decorations from Christmas, but this year I have made a festive rebellion and kept up some of my favourite sparkly white lights to add some cosy warmth and twinkle to the chilly winter nights.

I'm not alone in this happy rebellion! Loads of people feel the same way and why should we rush to take down the twinkling lights when they bring so much cheer and delight?  I've still got some white lights above my front door.  I have kept up the big wreath at the end of my kitchen, just removed the red bow and my conservatory is still filled with lights and the tree from outside the front door.  The door garland has been carefully packed away.  I wired on all of the red baubles and hopefully that will save a job later this year!

I'm trying to turn over a new leaf and say goodbye to my old habit of saving things for special occasions.  I have a collection of "decorative" tea towels and beautiful scented candles that I've been hoarding like treasure, barely daring to use them.  But my daughter gave me some super advice, telling me to light those candles and let those towels shine!  Life is too short to wait for the perfect moment. Let's make every moment perfect!

I have a Winter sale in the store at the moment which I've extended until the end of January, if there are some goodies there that can bring you a little joy and happiness then nothing could bring me greater pleasure.

Let's beat those January blues my dear homespun friends

Warm hugs, Charlotte xx
