A warm welcome to frosty Dartmoor

Well we woke up to snow at The Homespun Loft this morning!  It looked like a blizzard out of the window but as it was the first snowfall here on Dartmoor it didn't really settle once the sun came out.  It did however get me excited and full of the Christmas spirit!

We have said a fond farewell to beautiful Autumn ornaments and now we replace them with candy canes, snowmen and festive trees laden with lovely Primitive decorations.

If you're like me and you love the Primitive look, then you'll love it forever and I just can't wait to see the snowmen faces, rusty tin snowflakes and candy canes nestling in the branches alongside the twinkling white lights.

December is such an exciting time of the year when we can look forward to being with family and friends or have well deserved time to ourselves.

Maybe it's just a bit of peace and quiet that you need - a time to be creative and have a bit of "me time"

However your spend your Christmas, you can fill your home with beautiful things and wonderful smells from scented candles and mulled wine.

Here at The Homepun Loft we'll be putting the Christmas music on, warming some mince pies and pulling out last year's garlands, updating them with new homespun ties, bells and stars.

We always love candles here, pumpkin spice, cinnamon and vanilla scents in the Autumn replaced with orange, cranberry and winter spice for the festive period.  The home looks lovely and cosy with candles twinkling, a roaring fire, and shiny lights.

Although I say every year I'm not making any more Christmas items for the home, I put the festive topper on my quilt stand (changed from Autumn) see a new pattern that I have just the right fabric for and well...there's aways room for one more quilt isn't there?

Do let me know how your preparations for Christmas are going, do you have any new sewing projects in mind.

Ooh and don't forget, there's free postage on all UK orders over £40 on my site.  If you need to top up your decorations, fabric supplies or buy a gift, then why not take advantage of this offer.

Until next time, dear homespun friends...

Warm hugs, Charlotte xx
